You will begin in the evening from Friday, April 8th to Sunday, April 24th : the Easter holidays are expected by young children (and sometimes by parents). To make the most of this time with family in the north – Pas-de-Calaiswe slip you Five trip ideas.
1 / Discover Organic Topia
The zoological park of Fort-Mardyck, in the urban area of Dunkirk, reopened at the beginning of April, has become Bio-Topia. This name was chosen with the aim of highlighting the site’s commitment to animal welfare and the preservation of species and their biodiversity. In a 2-hectare park that unites the different regions of the world, you can see 270 animals of 70 different species.
2 / Try your hand at tree climbing
It’s an outdoor activity appreciated by young and old alike. The only condition is not to be (too) dizzy. Several tree climbing courses are reopening to the public for these holidays. You can test routes in the north:
- in Lille, with Accro Lille, at the citadel;
- in the Forest of Phalempin, with Chloro’fil;
- on the edge of the national forest of Raismes-Saint-Amand-Wallers with Pure Aventure.
Other routes are offered in the Pas-de-Calais:
- in Arras Citadel with Cit’Loisirs;
- in Boulogne-sur-Mer with Acro’Liane;
- in Loon-Plage, in the Galamé Park;
- in Sainte-Cécile, with Opalaventure.
3 / The new Louvre Lens exhibition
Rome is honored this season in an exhibition of the same name at the Louvre-Lens. For this new exhibition, just inaugurated for these holidays, the museum plans entertainment for the whole family.
On Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April, a Roman carnival will enliven the corridors of the Lensois Museum. “The theme continues with the unmissable holidays at the Louvre-Lens: the cycles of visit workshops that offer the youngest the opportunity to discover Roman civilization. ‘Imperial’ Loulouvre to have fun with the family and discover the exhibition, ‘Bébé au musée’ sessions to learn about shapes and colors in front of the Temple of Apollo, guided tours in costume, a play Britannicus by Jean Racine the stage … all spectators are welcome to an ancient experience,” says the museum.
Museums come alive
During the school holidays, the museums come alive and offer highlights for families. The opportunity to (re)discover unmissable places in Nord – Pas-de-Calais in a fun way. Workshops and special tours are offered, for example, at the Ecomuseum Avesnois and the Natural History Museum of Lille. Check with the museum near you!
4 / “Creatures” and Dragon in Calais
Another event: the opening of the “Creatures” exhibition at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Calais, dedicated to the fantastic bestiaries of comics. It allows you to extend the entertainment offered by the Compagnie du Dragon by the sea: a ride along the water on the giant dragon of Calais.
5/ Participate in the kite meetings in Berck
On the last weekend of the holiday, the International Kite Meetings will take place again in Berck-sur-Mer. A 35e Edition that will honor Guatemala with two colorful giants of 10 and 12 m in length. An unmissable event for hang-gliders and eternal amazement.
The Cité Nature in Arras, egg hunts nearby, walks in the open air on slag heaps or on top of bell towers… There is no shortage of fun activities nearby. That’s enough to give you some clues.
