The Bridgerton Chronicles: We know the first name of Daphne and Simon’s baby

The first season of The Bridgerton Chronicles had a happy ending. The series actually ends with a scene where we see Daphne giving birth to a baby boy, with the Duke of Hastings by her side. However, his first name wasn’t revealed until Season 2!

What is the name of Daphne and Simon’s baby?

At the end of the first season of Bridgerton Chronicles, Simon finally agrees to have a child with Daphne. However, the Duke of Hastings had vowed never to have one, lest he continue his father’s lineage. His wife and Lady Danbury finally make him realize that he is wasting his own life denying himself the happiness of being a father just to get revenge on a dead man. After much discussion (and arguments), the couple decide to become parents, to the delight of Daphne. The Duchess has always dreamed of being a mother.

The series also ends with a scene where we see her giving birth to her first child: a little boy. Daphne and Simon then wonder what they will name their son. This riddle will finally be revealed in the third episode of the Bridgerton Season 2. The Duchess actually joins her family at Aubrey Hall with their toddler, revealing her first name to viewers during a discussion: Augie.

Daphne and Simon respect the Bridgerton tradition

The couple had already hinted at their child’s first name in the final episode of the show’s first season. Simon had pointed out that the baby’s first name would start with an A to respect tradition Bridgerton family.

The names of the children of Lady Bridgerton actually follow the letters of the alphabet, in the order of their birth.

  • Anthony
  • Benedict
  • colin
  • daphne
  • Eloise
  • Francesca
  • Gregory
  • hyacinth

No doubt the name of the Duke and Duchess of Hastings’ second child will begin with a B.

Where is Simon in Bridgerton Season 2?

Actor René-Jean Page has already confided that he won’t be part of the cast for Season 2 of The Chronicles of Bridgerton.

What happened to his character? The first episode of Season 2 hints that Simon is still part of the landscape, except that he doesn’t necessarily accompany his wife when she visits her family. Daphne actually mentions in the very first scene that she left her husband and baby at home.

Series creator Chris Van Dusen has also pledged that he will always bring the Duke of Hastings’ character to life. “Just because we don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there,” he told TV Line.

Is there any hope of the actor returning to the series from there? It remains pretty unlikely. We will only learn of him through Daphne.
