South Vendee. Five trips with the family during the holidays

With the complicity of Sud Vendée Tourisme (the tourist arm of the coastal communes of South Vendée, Pays de Fontenay Vendée, Vendée Sèvre Autise and Pays de La Châtaigneraie together), the editorial western france has selected five activities related to family or tribe this Easter holiday. Tourists or locals, take your pick!

1. Meet local producers

Four unique opportunities to discover local producers, their trades and their know-how. Some are new producers or just starting out. The initiative of the Sud Vendée Littoral Tourist Office, launched during the end-of-year celebrations, will be renewed this spring.

Wednesday, April 20th at 10.30 Lison Retailleau, who has lived in Puyravault for a year, makes peasant pasta from durum wheat, which her husband Gildas Landais produces. Friday, April 22nd at 2.30 p.m., without his garden of aromatic and medicinal plants, in Les Pineaux, the herbal fairy Anne-Marie Alisé-Boscher shares her love of plants, their virtues, which she translates into herbal teas, syrups… Wednesday, April 27th At 10:30 am, Emily Sullivan and Morgan de Jong are busy making fermented tea: Kombucha in their microbrewery and permaculture forest garden in Rosnay. Thursday, April 28th at 10am, Lise Baccara, the Charentaise house famous for its cognac, which settled in Saint-Martin-Lars-en-Sainte-Hermine thirty years ago to produce the Vendée aperitif, the trouspinette, opens its doors.

2. From Saint-Juire-Champgillon to Saint-Michel-en-l’Herm… a treasure hunt

Nothing beats a treasure hunt to discover an area! A treasure hunt decorated with pebbles will be held in the parks and gardens of Chaillé-les-Marais, Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais, Saint-Michel-en-l’Herm, Saint-Juire-Champgillon, Sainte-Pexine, Thiré and Triaize. With three different uncovered pebbles, you win!

From April 20th to May 8th. Information at the Tourist Offices of Luçon, Saint-Michel-en-l’Herm, Chaillé-les-Marais, Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais, L’Aiguillon la Presqu’île or on 02 51 56 37 37. Free.

3. An outdoor puzzle game

The Tourist Office of the seaside resort of La Tranche-sur-Mer has developed a new version of the game escape game outdoors with the Baludik mobile application. Three hours of wild walking through an exclusive 4.5 km course.

4. Learn to do it yourself

The eco-site of La Gatautière in Foussais-Payré, a unique concept in South Vendée in terms of eco-responsibility, offers workshops open to everyone: caring for a garden, a place of biodiversity, cooking your harvest, Building, etc. Insect hotel… Information and reservations on 06 83 53 98 90. Prices from €20/pers. Limited to ten people.

5. Egg stories in the Abbey of Nieul-sur-l’Autise

From April 16th to 24th (no classes on Tuesday April 19th), storytelling workshops will tell how eating according to the season and religious rules helps to maintain health. We will learn why we offer eggs at Easter? What medieval recipes and stories can you discover about this food? Who remembers the fight between carnival and Lent? Prices: €6 and €4.
