But the swimrathon, how does it work? Volunteers must register (1) alone or in teams of a maximum of six people to reserve a one-hour place under the four swimming lanes available to the pool. The goal for the team is to reach the maximum lengths that turn into euros. Team members are invited to contact acquaintances, employers, friends, etc. and ask them to “sponsor” each length for, say, 10 cents. Of course, it can also be more… The idea behind it is that every swimmer has the feeling that they are trying to get this money.

The Rotary volunteers will all be on deck this Saturday to accompany the swimmers: they expect between 110 and 120 swimmers, residents of the Mosaïque house, firefighters, school children … The President insists “ on the friendly side of the event as the volunteers will be swimming in a good mood. In addition, they are offered some delicacies (drinks and cakes) in the entrance hall.” At the same time, the diving club “Le Masque et la Palme” offers first dives for €2.

The Rotary Club volunteers are happy to be able to organize this event again after the forced stop caused by the Covid. They also all meet on May 15 for a flea market at the exhibition center.

(1) The registration forms made available by the association to justify to the sponsors that the funds go to Rotary can be withdrawn at Aquaval or upon request at mchmasset@gmail.com or at 06 13 21 00 79.
