A round table on educational cooperation between Vietnam and Cambridge University Press & Assessment (UK) was held in London on 5 April.

Vietnam’s Ambassador to the UK, Nguyên Hoàng Long (standing), during the Roundtable on Educational Cooperation between Vietnam and Cambridge University Press & Assessment in London.
Cambridge University Press & Assessment is a department of the University of Cambridge. It is both a global academic and educational publisher and a leading provider of educational reviews.
Participants in the Vietnam-British Educational Cooperation Roundtable discussed the potentials and opportunities for cooperation between Vietnam and Cambridge University Press & Assessment in the areas of teaching English, improving the skills of Vietnamese teachers, developing and delivering textbooks and programs for general and university education in Vietnam , quality assessment and recognition of certificates.
Present at the round table, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Nguyên Hoàng Long stressed that the UK is an important partner of Vietnam in education, especially in higher education.
The Vietnamese Embassy in the UK is doing its best to encourage this cooperation, he said.
For her part, Francesca Woodward, executive director of Cambridge Assessment English, said that Cambridge University Press & Assessment has worked with the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training for the past 15 years to organize seminars on a wide range of subjects.
She also said that Cambridge University Press & Assessment has supported teaching English, teaching math and science in English, and training Vietnamese teachers and students. In fact, the teacher professional development program has supported more than 600 teachers in Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces in the past two years amidst COVID-19. In addition, Cambridge University Press & Assessment supports thousands of Vietnamese teachers with curriculum and training each year.
Finally, Francesca Woodward announced that Cambridge University Press & Assessment is developing an International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) program in Vietnamese. This program is scheduled to be completed in 2023 and its first review could be in 2026.
