The United States and Britain have announced sanctions against two of Putin’s daughters, Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Putina, from his first marriage, including travel bans and asset freezes. They are employed by the Russian state. But he would also have other children… in Switzerland.
A thick veil envelops his family ties and his love affairs.
In 2002, Russian media claimed that Putin used his influence to ensure Oxana Fedorova received the Miss Universe title. The competition belonged to Donald Trump at the time. The year before, when she won the title of Miss Russia, the media was already suggesting that Putin had intervened to ensure her victory.
In 2013, Putin announced that he was divorcing his wife Lyudmila Shkrebneva, to whom he had been married for 30 years. It was said that he broke up because of his lover Alina Kabaeva, one of the most decorated women in the history of rhythmic gymnastics: two Olympic medals and 14 medals at world championships.

After Lioudmila and Oxana, Alina
Rumors began linking her to Putin, 30 years her senior, when she was his party’s deputy in the State Duma in 2008. His mother received a luxury apartment from Gazprom, a Russian state company. Jailed opposition leader Alexis Navalny claims Putin married the former Olympic gymnast in a secret ceremony.
Unlike other members of Putin’s inner circle, Alina Kabaeva was not sanctioned. She is believed to have lived in Switzerland with four of Putin’s children since 2019, when she was last seen in Russia. The couple are said to have twin daughters, believed to have been born near Lugano in February 2015, and two sons, also born in Switzerland.
The Swiss Federal Council has blocked the assets of a list of people close to Putin. But not the four children of Alina Kabaeva and Putin, who all have Swiss passports.
A Swiss investigation of the Putins
The Change.org petition platform, with over 300 million users, has put a petition online calling for Alina Kabaeva to be expelled from Switzerland. With 73,356 signatures, it’s approaching 75,000, making it one of the most signed on Change.org!
The petition, posted online by Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians, calls on the Swiss authorities to investigate why she was granted Swiss citizenship and why she is not subject to sanctions.
According to them, Switzerland is also said to be interested in the origin of the funds used to buy his magnificent residence in this country. The authors of the petition end their text with a warning to Switzerland: “Reunite Eva Braun with her leader!”
